We feel fortunate that Dexter joined our herd.  Thank you, Gwen and Tim Smith!  Bred by Hugh and Carol Masters of Serenity Alpacas, this reddish brown male’s pedigree goes back to the early English imports and one of the old studs made famous by Woods Edge Wools Farm.  Dexter represents an important era of North American alpaca history!  Interested breeders will find fine fiber, conformational soundness (I challenge you to find me a better rear anywhere!), and the landrace vigor so typical of the early Chileans.  He’s produced a number of great crias, one of which defeated a class of full Peruvians at the MAPACA Jubilee under highly respected judge Julio Sumar.  Dexter carries a recessive gene for black fiber. Both testicles are fully descended.
